Mercury Studios pubblica ‘The Police: Around The World Restored & Expanded’, in uscita il 20 maggio

Il 20 maggio Mercury Studios pubblicherà ‘The Police: Around The World Restored & Expanded’ su DVD+CD, Blu-ray+CD e DVD+LP (stampato su vinile blu). Originariamente disponibile su VHS e laserdisc, il filmato viene presentato per la prima volta in DVD e Blu-ray, con immagini restaurate e audio rimasterizzato. Sono inoltre incluse le performance complete di quattro bonus track presenti nel documentario. ‘The Police: Around The World Restored & Expanded’ include inoltre tracce audio dal vivo mai pubblicate prima d’ora su CD e LP, incluse le canzoni dei loro primi due album registrati in Giappone, Hong Kong ed Inghilterra.

La band britannica si stava godendo il primo successo nelle classifiche del Regno Unito con ‘Roxanne’ e ‘Message In A Bottle’. Erano giovani, affamati e pronti a sfondare. Come afferma con entusiasmo Andy Summers nelle note di copertina: “Come Napoleone, volevamo conquistare tutto. Fuori dall’atmosfera disordinata e fervente della Londra di quegli anni abbiamo concepito l’idea di fare il giro del mondo e filmare l’intera avventura. Per quanto ne sapevamo, nessun gruppo rock l’aveva mai fatto. Avevamo abbastanza popolarità per poter esibirci ovunque. Il progetto si è pienamente realizzato”.
